Greetings to everyone ! Today, I will give you information about AR & VR and present the material we designed. Let’s talk about AR/VR first. Opportunities for learning languages are exciting thanks to augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR). By incorporating digital information onto real-world environments, augmented reality (AR) transforms classes into interactive experiences that improve vocabulary and grammar acquisition. By integrating students in virtual environments, virtual reality enables them to study cultural settings and improve their communication abilities. AR is interesting and accessible, but it might not be as immersive as VR. VR can be problematic, nevertheless, because of its expensive price, possible difficulty, and lack of human connection. Both technologies increase motivation and engagement despite these limitations, making them useful tools when used in collaboration with traditional teaching techniques. As for the task we prepared, under the title "Exploring a city abroad", we chose the Scotland, city of Edinburgh for our students. We allowed them to truly experience the Royal Mile in Edinburgh, which stands out with its architecture, the National Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh Castle and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in the form of 360 videos and 3D models. During this process, visiting Edinburgh's unique places with my friend Günes and having this experience is indescribable... Although we had a little difficulty finding 360 videos and 3D models, this city deserves to be explored further. I'll leave the links to the 360 videos and 3D model sites we used for this material below. It is already exciting to integrate AR and VR into my students' lessons on animals, food and drinks and many other subjects in future language teaching! Have a nice trip!
